The DAF Trucks Apprentice Programme Annual Awards Ceremony 2019

November saw our annual apprentice event, which included a graduation ceremony alongside the Apprentice of the Year awards.  This event has become one of the most coveted in DAF’s calendar, with this year being particularly well attended at the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport Wales.

The event started early, with the top 10 apprentices from each year competing for the annual Apprentice of the Year title, held at the City of Bristol College.

With the competition completed, the focus switched to the Celtic Manor Resort, where the 550-strong audience was treated to a fantastic presentation, celebrating the success and achievements of both the graduates and the Apprentice of the Year contenders.

Heathrow Truck Centre was very well represented this year: David Osilaja from Heathrow, Tony Stonard from Belvedere, Dylan Noble from Park Royal, Toby Evans from Croydon and Rory Smart from Dunstable who all graduated; with Rory also achieving 4th place in the 3rd Year Apprentice of the Year Competition.  Jignesh Khimani from Park Royal achieved 4TH place in the 1st Year Apprentice of the Year Competition.

And finally special congratulations goes to Tom Sykes from HTC Oxford who was the winner of the 2nd year Apprentice of the Year Award.  Well done Tom!
